DUAL ENROLLMENT

Empty Classroom

Academic Class

In Iowa, dual enrollment is a legal option for students under Competent Private Instruction (CPI) to access public school services, activities, and classes.  For example, a student could dual enroll for band, orchestra, sports, or an academic class(es).  HSAP does not fall under dual enrollment.

Students who are WDM residents may participate at their local school if there is room available. Parents should contact the home school coordinator, Tami Prescott, for building placement to make sure there is available space. The HSAP coordinator will then contact the school registrar for correct placement.

Students who are open enrolled should also contact the HSAP coordinator, Tami Prescott, for school placement. Once again, the HSAP coordinator will contact the registrar for correct building placement.

Other expenses may include: lesson book, reeds, and supplies for instrument maintenance. Accommodations can be made for students who need financial support.

In order to develop the necessary skills, the instrumentalist is asked to practice 20-30 minutes daily on his or her instrument. Parental interest and encouragement are very important to student success.
