SOPHIE DELAHAYE

GENERAL SECRETARY

EDUCATION
I graduated from the University of Kansas where I received my PhD in French.

EXPERIENCE
As a former educator, I taught language, culture, and literature in the French and Italian Department at the University of Kansas while pursuing my graduate studies. I continued my teaching career at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, before moving to Kansas City, Missouri, where I worked at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Returning to my passion for education, I taught at Academie Lafayette Charter School. After relocating to the Des Moines area, I transitioned to a new role as a support staff member at HSAP.

INTERESTS
I love spending time with my family, whether we are hiking a new trail or simply enjoying our time together. I find great joy in gardening and cultivating new plants. I like visiting or hosting relatives and trying out new recipes. In my free time, you can find me walking my dogs or delving into a well-written, thoroughly researched journalistic article.
