EDUCATION 
I grew up attending schools in North Kansas City, MO and then continued my education and played volleyball and basketball at Simpson College in Indianola, IA.  I have a B.A. in mathematics and completed coursework for my teaching and coaching license.  Graduate coursework has been completed through Drake University.

EXPERIENCE
I taught 7th grade math at Indian Hills and 8th grade math at Stilwell junior high in West Des Moines for a total of 14 years.  I had the privilege to stay home with my boys for two years before working part time in our wonderful WDM HSAP program starting in 2007.  I get to supervise many of our HSAP families, coordinate HSAP enrollment, develop and update our website, implement the use of Chromebooks with our families, and coordinate state offered testing. 
 

INTERESTS
I absolutely love spending time with my family which includes traveling to watch many basketball games.  Being active, being outdoors, boating, and reading are other hobbies of mine.

WHY I LOVE TEACHING

I have always had a passion for working with kids and teens.  I love seeing them work through the learning process and seeing the "ah-ha" moments.
