HSAP TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR
HSAP TESTING COORDINATOR
I grew up attending schools in North Kansas City, MO and then continued my education and played volleyball and basketball at Simpson College in Indianola, IA. I have a B.A. in mathematics and completed coursework for my teaching and coaching license. Graduate coursework has been completed through Drake University.
I taught 7th grade math at Indian Hills and 8th grade math at Stilwell junior high in West Des Moines for a total of 14 years. I had the privilege to stay home with my boys for two years before working part time in our wonderful WDM HSAP program starting in 2007. I get to supervise many of our HSAP families, work with curriculum through registration and our lending library, develop and update our website, implement the use of Chromebooks with our families, and coordinate state offered testing.
I have been married to my husband, Jeff, since 1990. We have been truly blessed with two wonderful boys, Grant and Steven.
I absolutely love spending time with my family which includes traveling to watch many basketball games. Being active, being outdoors, boating, and reading are other loves of mine.
WHY I LOVE TEACHING
I have always had a passion for working with kids and teens. I love seeing them work through the learning process and seeing the "ah-ha" moments.
