BONNIE SHAW
K & 7th/8th FRIDAY SPANISH TEACHER
EDUCATION:
I have an elementary education degree with a Spanish minor from Oklahoma State University. I have a Master's Degree as well, concentrating on Science and Foreign Language curriculum development. I am licensed to teach K-12 Spanish and various other subjects.
EXPERIENCE:
I have taught in many classrooms, nearly every grade level in public and private schools, including preschool, HiSET/GED, and various homeschool co-ops. I have homeschooled pre-K through 12th grade my own 4 children. I also teach ELL and CNA classes at DMACC. I always love my students and whatever subject we are learning together!
FAMILY:
My husband and I have 4 kids: 2 have grown and flown, 1 former HSAP student is a sophomore in college and the other is a sophomore in high school. We also have a sweet puppy! We love to spend time together, wherever we find ourselves, traveling and enjoying the outdoors.
INTERESTS:
I love to read stacks of books, paint my nails, and accessorize! I love other languages and cultures and enjoy meeting people from all around the world. I enjoy gardening, growing flowers and spending time with my family.
WHY I LOVE TEACHING:
Students are amazing, and I learn from each student I meet. Being a teacher allows me to ask questions, encourage others to ask questions, and to have so much fun in our classroom! Plus, school supplies!
